Engagement sessions
Engagement sessions add so much to the story of who you are as a couple and they’re an ideal way to become more comfortable in front of my lens before your wedding day.
Your engagement session can be as simple as a stroll in the park or beach, an intimate session at your favorite café, or even a romantic return to where he proposed. Literally anything you can imagine sharing a personal intimate love story. Formal or informal, images from your engagement session are beautiful additions to your wedding album and can make a wonderful signing book. They help to navigate the whole story and can even be used for Save-the-Date cards, invitations or Thank You cards.
Scheduling my Engagement Photoshoot
Engagement sessions can take place anywhere. Many couples choose the time they want to set up to save the dates. I will guide you the whole way and come up with a plan for your session.
Every wedding is different just as each couple is unique. With that in mind, we want to put a set of service packages that fits perfectly to exactly what you are looking for.
Should my engagement session be at the same time as my bridal trail?
Engagement session can take place after your hair and makeup bridal trial. This is a great test run for how your hair and makeup will hold and look in your photos. Many brides choose to do their bridal shoot before meeting up for engagement. The best time to shoot is evening time, late afternoon, and have the sunset right on time.
Upping the romance vibe
Let’s make this day really something special and magical! For an additional fee I can set up a champagne picnic, fruits, horse carriage that can stroll through our beautiful city of Savannah or Charleston. Get the ring ready
The ring shot is my absolute favorite. Most important thing is getting the ring clean. You can literally do this at home. Soak your ring in warm water and use dishwashing soap for 20 minutes. Gently brush the ring with a soft toothbrush, rinse and repeat if needed.
What to wear?
The main thing to remember when choosing what to wear for your engagement session, is to wear what makes you feel confident in and what makes you feel comfortable. Complementing your partner’s look is great, but matching outfits and patterned prints are not ideal for portrait sessions. Try to stay away from anything too busy, as it can be an unnecessary distraction in photos. If your shoes aren’t that comfortable, I would advise you to bring a second pair of shoes that are comfortable to walk in between photos. If you like to have two outfits, that is perfectly okay. I have couples who like to change in between photos from casual to a more formal dressier look. I am a big fan of muted solid colors; they tend to not be so busy and classic.
Be Yourself + have Fun
This photo shoot is all about capturing your love for each other and creating a visual love story with photos. So act natural, show each other some love and this is the part where it is okay to show some public display of affection for each other. Smash cake in your partner’s face! Whisper all the dirty secrets. Get down on the dance floor like no one’s watching! Light sparklers then kiss. Pop bottles, take shots (after all the formal photos have been taken, of course). Enjoy the night and have the most legendary celebration ever!
